Paper.io enters a whole new dimension in its third installation! This time, you don't just have to worry about what's going on top, bottom, left, and right of you. Now, you have a whole other side of the map to keep an eye on! Paper.io 3D adds a whole new challenge to the already addictive Paper.io games!
Just like its predecessors, Paper.io 3 is an incredibly easy game to play. Start off by entering a nickname and pressing Play to join a match. Keep in mind that this name is visible to others, so don't use personally identifiable information, like your real name.
Once you're in the match, you will be pitted against several other players. You should only have one goal in mind: to take as much territory as possible! When you traverse outside your territory, you leave a tail behind. Close the loop to claim that territory! You can also take other player's territory too.
If a player gets too close for your liking, you can always try to kill them. While their tail is exposed, you can run into it, killing the other player. However keep in mind that your tail is your weak spot too, and others can cut you off as well.
To move around the map, simply point your mouse cursor in the direction you want to move or tap and drag if you're on mobile. Alternatively, you can also use the arrow keys for more precise maneuvers.
The very first Paper.io game released was very simple. Now known as Paper.io 1, this game simply had you moving up, down, left, or right with just the arrow keys. Just like this game, the goal of Paper.io 1 was to take as much territory as possible.
Several years later, Paper.io 2 was released. The goal of the sequel was the same, but this time with much more fluid controls. Rather than only moving in four directions, the player can now use the mouse to precisely control the square.
Now comes Paper.io 3D, also known as just Paper.io 3. Just like Paper.io 1 and Paper.io 2, Paper.io 3D has to do with capturing as much territory as possible. But this time, rather than moving around on a flat paper-like surface, the player has to traverse a three-dimensional cube with six sides!
IO games are a very simple yet fun genre of games that involve playing with other people in either a Battle Royale match or a Free For All Match. Paper.io 3D is a free for all game because the player joins a match at random and plays until they die.
The very first io game was Agar.io, a simple online game where blobs ate smaller blobs and grew bigger until they were first on the leaderboards. Since then, many more "io" domains have been registered and incorporated into the game name. Some of these games included Slither.io and even Paper.io!
