Jetpack Joyride is not a difficult game to play, but it can get very chaotic. In the game, you are flying a jetpack. Click/tap and hold to fly up, and release to fly down. As you run, you will encounter many lasers, missiles, and zappers that will stop at nothing to end you! Dodge the attacks and see how far you can fly!
You can also pick up many cool powerups along the way. Some of them alter the gameplay, such as giving you a speed boost or generating more coins. Other powerups might completely change your character, such as making you a mech that can jump super high and stomp on everything!
Looking for a side-quest? In Jetpack Joyride, you can pick up scattered coins along the lab. Collecting these lets you purchase sweet new costumes and characters. Whether you want to be a clown, Santa Clause, be a businessman, or just want to wear a baby's diaper, you can customize your character to make it your very own!
You can also purchase cool new jetpacks to fly in style! Jetpacks can range between 7,500 coins to 18,500. This might seem pricey, but we promise that coins accumulate quickly! Furthermore, the jetpacks can be as cool as a rocketship jetpack or a steam-powered jetpack. They can also be as crazy as a banana jetpack or a leaf blower jetpack!
Cosmetics aren't the only thing you can get with your hard-earned coins. To make the game more fun, you can also purchase and upgrade powerups! There are three powerups and they include coin dash (which is a huge coin boost), boost (which makes you faster), or shield (which protects you from incoming attacks, effectively giving you a "second life."
Jetpack Joyride was made by Halfbrick, who are also the creators of Fruit Ninja, an arcade game where you slice fruits (in a violent way!) and avoid bombs. The company was on the verge of bankruptcy, until Luke Muscat and his team at Halfbrick pitched the idea of Fruit Ninja. This was at the time that smartphone apps were blowing up, so the timing was perfect!
